Located
to the north of Vitoria, in a valley overlooked
by the mountain ranges of Amboto and Urkiola,
bordering on Guipúzcoa.
The location is
known for the abundance and quality of its waters,
which led to the prospering of bathing spas and
ironworks, none of which survive to the present
day.
The town runs alongside the River Aramaio and the
road that joined Vitoria and Mondragón.
