On
the outskirts of the Izquiz Forest and having
an important strategic value, the town was
funded with the Charter of King Alfonso X
el Sabio in 1256.
Corres was surrounded
by walls, of which a few sections remain. Its urban
layout consisted of three streets running from north
to south, crossed by alleys and passageways.
The Church of San Esteban, from the 16th century,
occupies an outstanding location in the town.
