The cultural heritage is a central element in the identity of a province. The conservation of the cultural heritage requires the commitment of the whole of society to guarantee that it will be enjoyed in the future and furthermore to improve the quality of life in rural areas and stimulate tourism within the province.

In the province of Alava, there are numerous examples of the investigation, rehabilitation and conservation of the Cultural Building Heritage, in particular the Cathedral of Santa María. As well as this there are ample tourist attractions which contain "Cultural Building Heritage" within the province of Alava such as the Medieval Centre, the Four Towers, Labastida, Laguardia, Artzienaga, Salvatierra, the Plaza de los Fueros, etc.
